Know more about Amöba

My name is Nicolás Enríquez Bacca, an architect and designer from Colombia, now building a life and a dream in the United States. My background in intelligent spaces, parametric design, and organic forms has always shaped the way I see the world: everything is connected, everything evolves, and every space deserves to inspire the people who live in it.

AMÖBA was born from that belief. What began as a small idea on a desk in Medellín has grown into a design studio dedicated to creating functional, nature-inspired accessories for everyday life. Each piece reflects a blend of architectural thinking, biomimicry, and the desire to bring beauty and intention into homes and workspaces.

Every product we create is 3D-printed with recycled PLA, crafted with care, and designed to enhance comfort, organization, and creativity. From phone stands and laptop bases to desk organizers and lighting, AMÖBA is our way of transforming simple objects into meaningful tools that elevate daily routines.

As a growing brand, this journey has been fueled by resilience, long nights, trial and error, and the hope of building something bigger than ourselves. AMÖBA isn’t just a business — it’s a story of starting from scratch in a new country, believing in the power of design, and working toward a vision with heart, purpose, and persistence.

Thank you for supporting a small studio with big dreams. You’re helping shape the future of what AMÖBA can become.

  • Nicolás – Product Design and Production

As the founder of Amöba, I lead the design and production of our accessories and new collections. My background as an architect from the National University of Colombia and a master’s degree in Smart Architectural Space Design from the University of La Rioja, Spain, has given me a deep understanding of how design enhances interior spaces.

With four years of experience in interior architecture, as a design architect and as a lead construction resident at Alcuadrado Arquitectura, I developed a strong foundation in conceptualization and execution. However, my passion for entrepreneurship and product design led me to take a bold step in July 2023, leaving my job to pursue my vision with Amöba.

For me, product design is an essential complement to interior spaces. Through 3D printing, I’ve found a way to create innovative and sustainable accessories and furniture that enhance well-being in indoor environments. At Amöba, we merge creativity, functionality, and sustainability to redefine how people interact with their spaces.
